FLC partners with a local organization each month. We raise funds, collect items, and learn more about these organizations in various ways each month.

The Mobile Banquet is offered the 2nd Thursday of each month from 5:30-6:30pm. A meal is prepared, packaged, and delivered to a different location in Fremont each month. Volunteers are needed to help cook, pack, serve and clean up. Food donations are also needed.

LWR seeks lasting solutions to poverty and injustic and in doing so, compels U.S. Lutheran to put their faith into action. First Lutheran Women help coordinate donations of items for baby care kits, personal care kits, and school kits during the year.

Quilters meet every Wednesday at 1:00pm in the Quilting Room (RM 141). They tie and finish quilts on the third Wednesday of the month. Anyone is welcome for any length of time that they can stay and help. We are always looking for individuals who can cut, color match, tie knots, and more! Quilt squares are available at the Church Office for anyone to take home and sew together a quilt top. The quilts made are distributed through local agencies and Lutheran World Relief. This ministry welcomes donations of fabric and bed sheets to use in making the quilts.

Prayer Shawl Ministry serves as way to wrap love around someone in need of comfort and prayers. The shawls are crocheted or knitted by members and friends of First Lutheran. The shawls receive a blessing before they are sent on their way. Patterns are available for anyone who would like to help with this ministry.

FLC Red Cross Shelter Team members have been trained by the Red Cross to serve our community in the event First Lutheran would be called up to serve as an emergency shelter. Opportunities are available for new members to be a part of the this team. If you are interested, please contact the Church Office.

FLC is partnering with a company called gotsneakers? to recycle athletic shoes. Shoes that are badly worn are shredded and the materials are incorporated into new products. Shoes with some life left in them are redistributed to markets in which they will continue to be worn. AND, the gotsneakers? company pays a small amount for shoes that are sent in, no matter how worn out they are! Proceeds will support Spoudazo.

ACCEPTED SHOES: (must be at least 4.5 inches long) Running, Walking, Hiking, Court Shoes, Cleats (rubber only), Casual (such as Skechers and Vans. Any brand is acceptable; they do not need to be name-brand shoes. Please leave all insoles and laces intact. Bring your shoe donations to the church.

NOT ACCEPTED SHOES: Boots (except hiking), Dress Shoes, Flip-Flops, Sandals, Slippers, and Water Shoes.
