2024 Radio and Altar Flower Sponsors

Each week our radio broadcast and altar flowers have sponsors who support these important outreach ministries of the church. Our radio broadcast reaches many people who are not able to worship with us in person. The altar flowers are delivered each week to someone needing a little cheer or celebrating a special event. You will be contacted prior to your week for payment and your special message for the announcements. Call the church office if you need help getting your days reserved.

Holiday Food Drive

Join with other area churches to donate money for the LifeHouse food pantry. Forms can be found at First Lutheran or download a copy here. Please return your complete form to the church by November 30. The Donate Now button will allow you to give online. Please note that debit/credit donations are charged fees and our convenience fee only pays for a part. Consider paying from your checking or savings account to save the church additional fees.

The Light of Grace

Help keep the lights on. Our December Mission Collection will go to utility assistance through the United Way to help families who are struggling to make ends meet. The Donate Now button will allow you to give online. Please note that debit/credit donations are charged fees and our convenience fee only pays for a part. Consider paying from your checking or savings account to save the church additional fees.

Mobile Banquet – December 14

First Lutheran’s new meal ministry serves a free meal once a month to a different location around Fremont. The meal is served 5:30-6:30 pm. We are looking for help with donations, food prep and serving. First Lutheran will accept donations of new or gently-used coats, NEW hats, mittens and gloves to be handed out at the meal delivery.

Poinsettias and Christmas Decorations

If you would like to help sponsor the Poinsettias and other Christmas decorations this year at First Lutheran, we are asking for a donation of $15. Envelopes are available at the Welcome Center or you can make your donation now.

Live Nativity Event

December 20 4-6 pm

Bring the family! Invite your friends and neighbors! See the animals of the nativity, hear the Christmas story, make a Christmas craft, and enjoy hot cocoa. Stay and eat or take a meal to go: chicken noodle soup and chili will be available $5/adult $3/child. Proceeds will go to utility assistance.

Volunteers are needed to be a part of the live nativity, help at the event, and/or help provide food.  Click on the buttons to see all the different ways in which you can help.

Sunday Hospitality

We appreciate all our volunteers who serve communion, greet our Sunday morning guests, usher and host at the Welcome Center. Help us cover hospitality by finding a day that works into your schedule.  One signup is communion only.  The other signup is for the other pieces of hospitality.

Christmas Hospitality

Please help us welcome all who come to our Christmas worship services by signing up to serve communion, greet our guests, usher, or host at the Welcome Center. Help us cover hospitality by finding a service that you plan to attend.  One signup is communion only.  The other signup is for the other pieces of hospitality.

Snow Touchups

During the winter months, we ask for a little help to keep the sidewalks clear if it snows on a Sunday morning after the snow removal company does their initial clearing. There are two shifts each Sunday. This is a great way to volunteer for an individual or a family. Pick dates that work into your schedule.

Breakfast Club Treats

Every Thursday morning, a group gathers to do some jobs around the church and spend fellowship time with coffee and treats. We are looking for people who would be willing to bring treats to serve this group. The treats need to be at the church by 9 am on Thursdays.

Funeral Teams

First Lutheran is blessed to provide a ministry of hospitality during the difficult time of a funeral. First Lutheran funeral teams provide lunch for those grieving families. The teams consist of workers who prepare the sandwiches, set the tables, and serve the beverages. The teams also have people who make treats and/or salads. All men and women are encouraged to be a part of this ministry. You would be called on by one of the team leaders to see if you’re available to help at that time of the funeral meal.

FLC Foodie Meal Ministry

We are trying to build a new meal ministry. This involves a volunteer making or purchasing a meal for someone in need. Once information is received from our Pastor or Deacons about an FLC member needing a boost or some TLC, we’ll ask one of our volunteer foodies to provide a meal. This can be a homemade meal of your choosing or food purchased from a local restaurant.

Athletic Shoe Recycling

FLC is partnering with a company called gotsneakers? to recycle athletic shoes. Shoes that are badly worn are shredded and the materials are incorporated into new products. Shoes with some life left in them are redistributed to markets in which they will continue to be worn. AND, the gotsneakers? company pays a small amount for shoes that are sent in, no matter how worn out they are! Proceeds will support Spoudazo.

Shoes (which must be at least 4.5 inches long) accepted are: running, walking, hiking, court shoes, cleats (rubber only), casual (such as Skechers and Vans).  Any brand is acceptable; they do not need to be name-brand shoes.  Please leave all insoles and laces intact. Bring your shoe donations to the church.

Shoes not accepted are: boots (except hiking), dress shoes, flip flops, sandals, slippers, and water shoes.
