First Lutheran is collecting loose change to add to the special collection Rebuilding Together is doing. Bring your loose change to the church or make a donation online.

Mobile Banquet – April 11

First Lutheran will serve a free meal from the parking lot of Bell Field School parking lot on Thursday, April 11, from 5:30-6:30 pm. We are looking for help with donations, food prep, serving and cleanup. All donations should be brought to the church. Click on the Sign up Now to see where help is needed. Donations to support the meal ministry are also welcome.

Midland Choir Brunch – April 14

First Lutheran will welcome the Midland University Choir to worship on April 14. A brunch will be served to the choir, the FLC choir, and Midland alum. Food donations are needed for the brunch.

LifeHouse Meal – April 16

First Lutheran serves the meal on the third Tuesday of each month at the LifeHouse shelter (723 N. Broad St). Food needs to be delivered to the shelter by 5:20 pm. Click on the sign up button to see what is on this month’s menu and where you can help.

Sunday Hospitality

We appreciate all our volunteers who serve communion, greet our Sunday morning guests, usher and host at the Welcome Center. Help us cover hospitality each week by finding a day that works into your schedule.  One signup is communion only.  The other signup is for the other pieces of hospitality.

2024 Radio and Altar Flower Sponsors

Each week our radio broadcast and altar flowers have sponsors who support these important outreach ministries of the church. Our radio broadcast reaches many people who are not able to worship with us in person. The altar flowers are delivered each week to someone needing a little cheer or celebrating a special event. You will be contacted prior to your week for payment and your special message for the announcements. Call the church office if you need help getting your days reserved.

Zero-Turn Mowers

First Lutheran needs volunteers willing and able to operate zero-turn mowers provided by the church to mow the outer field areas around the church. This will take 1 person approximately 6 hours or 2 people 3 hours. We prefer it be done Thursday, Friday, or Saturday each week so things look nice on Sunday.

Breakfast Club Treats

Every Thursday morning, a group gathers to do some jobs around the church and spend fellowship time with coffee and treats. We are looking for people who would be willing to bring treats to serve to this group. The treats would need to be to the church by 9 am on Thursdays.

Athletic Shoe Recycling

FLC is partnering with a company called gotsneakers? to recycle athletic shoes. Shoes that are badly worn are shredded and the materials are incorporated into new products. Shoes with some life left in them are redistributed to markets in which they will continue to be worn. AND, the gotsneakers? company pays a small amount for shoes that are sent in, no matter how worn out they are! Proceeds will support Spoudazo.

Shoes (which must be at least 4.5 inches long) accepted are: running, walking, hiking, court shoes, cleats (rubber only), casual (such as Skechers and Vans). Any brand is acceptable; they do not need to be name-brand shoes. Please leave all insoles and laces intact. Bring your shoe donations to the church.

Shoes not accepted are: boots (except hiking), dress shoes, flip flops, sandals, slippers, and water shoes.
