United Way Food Packing

October 23-25

First Lutheran will host United Way for the annual Food Tote packing for the Fremont Public Schools Backpack Program. This signup is open to the community.

Snow Touchups

During the winter months we ask for a little help to keep the sidewalks clear if it snows on a Sunday morning after the snow removal company does their intial clearing. There are two shifts each Sunday. This is a great way to volunteer for an individual or a family. Pick dates that work into your schedule.

Funeral Teams

First Lutheran is blessed to provide a ministry of hospitality during the difficult time of a funeral. First Lutheran funeral teams provide lunch for those grieving families. The teams consist of workers who prepare the sandwiches, set the tables, and serve the beverages. The teams also have people who make treats and/or salads. All men and women are encouraged to be a part of this ministry. You would be called on by one of the team leaders to see if you’re available to help at that time of the funeral meal.

Sunday Hospitality

We appreciate all our volunteers who serve communion, greet our Sunday morning guests, usher and host at the Welcome Center. Help us cover hospitality each week by finding a day that works into your schedule.  One signup is communion only.  The other signup is for the other pieces of hospitality.

2023 Radio and Altar Flower Sponsors

Each week our radio broadcast and altar flowers have sponsors who support these important outreach ministries of the church. Our radio broadcast reaches many people who are not able to worship with us in person. The altar flowers are delivered each week to someone needing a little cheer or celebrating a special event. You will be contacted prior to your week for payment and your special message for the announcements. Call the church office if you need help getting your days reserved.

FLC Foodie Meal Ministry

FLC’s Meal Ministry involves a volunteer making or purchasing a meal for someone in need. Once information is received from our Pastor or Deacons about an FLC member needing a boost or some TLC, we’ll ask one of our volunteer foodies to provide a meal. This can be a homemade meal of your choosing or food purchased from a local restaurant.

Breakfast Club Treats

Every Thursday morning, a group gathers to do some jobs around the church and spend fellowship time with coffee and treats. We are looking for people who would be willing to bring treats to serve to this group. The treats would need to be to the church by 9 am on Thursdays.

Athletic Shoe Recycling

FLC is partnering with a company called gotsneakers? to recycle athletic shoes. Shoes that are badly worn are shredded and the materials are incorporated into new products. Shoes with some life left in them are redistributed to markets in which they will continue to be worn. AND, the gotsneakers? company pays a small amount for shoes that are sent in, no matter how worn out they are! Proceeds will support Spoudazo.

Shoes (which must be at least 4.5 inches long) accepted are: running, walking, hiking, court shoes, cleats (rubber only), casual (such as Skechers and Vans). Any brand is acceptable; they do not need to be name-brand shoes. Please leave all insoles and laces intact. Bring your shoe donations to the church.

Shoes not accepted are: boots (except hiking), dress shoes, flip flops, sandals, slippers, and water shoes.
