September Ministry Partner: The Bridge

This month, we are partnering with The Bridge, a local organization providing 24/7 crisis support, emergency shelter, & advocacy services for individuals and families experiencing domestic violence and sexual assault.

Currently, they have a critical need for Walmart & Hy-Vee gift cards to support the survivors they serve. The Bridge has seen a significant increase in requests for food and gasoline assistance. While non-perishable food donations are often available, they cannot consistently provide fresh foods or meet clients’ gasoline needs. These gift cards bridge that gap, offering survivors the flexibility to purchase essentials like gasoline, oil changes, groceries, toiletries, fresh produce, & meat.

Even a $10 gift card makes a meaningful difference. It can help someone get to work, attend a court hearing, travel to a counseling appointment, or purchase fresh food for their family. Thank you for your faithful support of The Bridge and the survivors they serve. Gift cards can be dropped off at the Church Office or in the drop box in Fellowship Hall. You can make an online monetary donation by clicking the “Donate Today” button.

September Mobile Banquet – September 10

The FLC Mobile Banquet will now be delivering 280 meals to Regency Mobile Home Park, LifeHouse, & ASPIRE on Thursday, September 10, from 5:30-6:30pm.

As rising food insecurity impacts more families in our community, our need for dedicated volunteers and donations has never been more urgent! To keep pace with this growing demand and ensure no one goes hungry, we rely on your support to expand our reach and deepen our impact!

Please consider helping to make this possible with your donations of food items, money or time. It’s easy, sign up online or call the office to offer your help! Please have your donations to the church kitchen by NOON on Wednesday, September 9. We are collecting dish soap as our extra item this month.

Grandparents, Games, & Goodies

Sunday, September 13 | 2:00-4:00pm | FLC Heritage Room
This afternoon event on Sunday, September 13th, invites the youth to bring their grandparents (or church grandparent like friends) to play Bunco and have snacks together from 2:00-4:00pm. Sign up is located at the Ministry Center. Please contact ginad@flcfremont.org with any food allergies.

FLC’s youth groups are back in action, and our students need nourishment as they grow—body, mind, and spirit!

We nurture our students spiritually by teaching and learning through Scripture. At each youth gathering, we support their emotional growth by listening to them, encouraging them, and creating a safe place where they feel valued. Games and activities help them grow mentally, while snacks help fuel them physically!

Please help us fill the youth cupboards by donating non-perishable, individually packaged snacks. Some of the items we use throughout the year include: Juice boxes, fruit snacks, pop tarts, chips, crackers, cookies, and other packaged snacks. If you’d rather provide cheese sticks, yogurts, fruit, or any perishable items, please contact Gina DeBoer to assure these items are used in a timely manner and not wasted. Many thanks for your support in helping our youth grow in many ways!

Red Cross Blood Drive – September 6

We will be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive here at FLC in Fellowship Hall on Sunday, September 6, from 7:30am-12:00pm. ALL blood types are needed, but there is a HIGH NEED for Type O. The blood supply fell nearly 25% in June. Sign up at redcrossblood.org or call Niki at 402-720-1825.

Lawn Mowing

We’re all ready for the snow to surpass and the warm temperatures to set in! Enjoy the fresh air and the satisfaction of a freshly cut lawn while serving our church family by joining our mowing team!

Exterior Lawn (Zero-Turn Mowers): Do you know how to operate a zero-turn mower or want to learn how? We need volunteers willing & able to operate zero-turn mowers to mow the outer field areas of the church each week. This job takes 1 person approx. 7 hours or 2 people approx. 4 hours. If you have questions, please contact Dave Poppe (402-619-7141). Click “Sign Up Now” to sign up for Zero-Turn Mowing dates.

All lawn care equipment is provided! Lawn care is usually completed on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday so the church looks nice on Sundays. In addition to mowing, we also need volunteers to help edge and assist with landscape clean up as needed. If you are interested in keeping this corner of God’s creation beautiful, please call the church office.

2026 Sunday Morning Gathering & Altar Flower Sponsors

Fellowship is an important part of Sunday mornings. Sharing our faith stories over coffee and donuts helps us grow as the FLC family. The Gathering sponsor helps cover the cost of the refreshments during fellowship time before and after Sunday services. The altar flowers are delivered each week to someone needing a little cheer or celebrating a special event. You will be contacted prior to your week for payment and your special message for the announcements. Call the church office if you need help getting your days reserved. You may include your payment in the offering on Sunday (be sure to designate your payment) or click “Sponsor Payment” to the left and fill out the Miscellaneous Payment section and specify your payment description.

A new (or updated) registration is required for each child each school year to participate in our Youth & Children’s programs. This assures us that we have the most updated information for your family.

Breakfast Club Treats

Every Thursday morning, a group gathers to do some jobs around the church and spend fellowship time with coffee and treats. We are looking for people who would be willing to bring treats to serve this group. The treats need to be at the church by 9 am on Thursdays.
