Kristin Johnson is a Deacon in the ELCA. Her duties at First include working with parents and staff in the Confirmation program, assisting in the Youth Ministry programs, planning worship as well as being part of the preaching rotation on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.
Kristin graduated from Western Oregon University in 1998 with a B.S. degree in Speech Communications. She then graduated from Luther Seminary in 2003 with a Master of Arts degree in Youth and Family Ministry. In her 22 years of ministry, she has had the privilege to serve in 5 different congregations in 3 different denominations (ELCA Lutheran, United Methodist and Presbyterian).
Kristin is married to Pastor Scott Johnson, the Campus Pastor at Midland University, and they have two daughters: Ainsley and Alanna. Besides her work, she loves dogs, playing soccer, swimming, teaching water aerobics (for over 20 years), watching college football (especially the Oregon Ducks, and yes, the Cornhuskers, too), taking afternoon naps, watching TV shows like NCIS, Hawaii 5-0, and Modern Family, church camp, mission trips and retreats, and diving into the Lord’s word and seeing what it has to say.
