Watch here for more updates

Early Thursday morning we received word that First Lutheran Church would be activated as a Red Cross Shelter. We are working closely with the Dodge County Emergency Management, the Red Cross, and the United Way to help people who are affected by rising waters. Currently, we do have evacuees staying in our Mission Center while others are coming to First Lutheran in order to make necessary connections. Our own Red Cross Shelter Team is working around the clock to provide food, water, a place to sleep, along with other basic necessities.

If you would like to help with local flood relief, the United Way is accepting donations at their office at 445 East 1st Street in Fremont.

  • bottled water
  • towels
  • blankets
  • toiletries such as laundry soap, bar soap, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner
  • and shovels for clean-up
  • packaged food items for relief workers

We kindly ask that these donations be taken directly to the United Way office since First Lutheran is unable to receive any tangible items or food during this time.

If you would like to give a monetary donation –

  • Text 41444, message FremontUW and it will go to local flood relief including hotels, housing deposits, clean up, and vouchers.
  • Go to www.fremontunitedway.org and click on the orange GIVE button.

Once the floodwaters reside, volunteers will be needed for clean-up. Please contact the United Way at 402-721-4157 for more information.

We invite you, in the meantime, to pray for all of those who are affected by flood waters.
